Wolves reportedly want to sign striker Mauricio Pochettino said is among those with 'the most potential' in Europe

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be eager to bolster their ranks this summer following a much improved season last time out.

Wolves struggled in 2022/23 but fared much better under Gary O’Neil this term, exceeding expectations and playing some exciting football along the way.

There’s more optimism around Molineux this summer compared to a year ago, with the club in a much better financial situation.

Now, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Wolves have set their sights on a striker Mauricio Pochettino said has “amazing potential”.

The player in question is Chelsea forward Armando Broja and, according to Jacobs, is also a target for Everton and Crystal Palace.

Broja is also on the radar of AS Monaco and AC Milan, while the player himself is reportedly open to a move to the Saudi Pro League.

The Albania international’s suitors apparently want to spend around £25million on him, despite Chelsea valuing him at £50million in January.

Wolves could get the best out of Armando Broja

Admittedly, Broja hasn’t had a great 2023/24 campaign. After struggling for game time at Chelsea, he joined Fulham on loan, but didn’t score once.

He only returned to action in September after nine months out with an ACL injury, and sadly he wasn’t able to truly get going once again.

With the right guidance, Broja could well become a solid Premier League striker, as he has the right traits to succeed.

Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig sung his praises on X in 2022, deeming him a “complete” forward who’s a “clinical finisher” and “dangerous in the air”.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino told The Independent in January: “The potential is amazing. We’re talking about one of the young strikers in England and in Europe with most potential.

“But the problem now is he needs to push himself, and we’re going to try to help him to realise that never it is enough.

“He was nearly one year away (injured) and of course now he needs time. It’s not easy for him to perform and to be at the level we expect.

“Our expectation is massive and we really believe in him. We’re going to push him to improve every day.

“I said to him smile. Always we joke about how he needs to smile, to laugh, to put inside himself more good energy and be more happy, a happy boy.”
