One of Wolves’ most-used players in the last few years could now be set to leave Molineux this summer.
The transfer window is only a couple of weeks away from officially opening. But plenty of clubs are already getting to work, identifying targets and laying the groundwork.
It’s a big summer for Wolves. Gary O’Neil oversaw a 14th-placed finish in 2023/24, and he has certainly shown his potential.
If he receives a good level of backing in the summer window, Wolves could potentially push for a top-half finish or maybe even Europe again.
But it will be important for the club to retain key players, which wasn’t the case last year.
One player who’s been linked with an exit in recent times is Jose Sa – and today, it has been claimed that he is open to leaving.

It has been reported by The Sun today in their print edition (pg 57) that Sa is now ready to leave Wolves.
It is stated that he is ready to play at the highest level, and that a number of clubs across Europe are monitoring his situation. There is also interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Wolves would be ‘reluctant’ to lose the 31-year-old, but the club’s ‘precarious financial position’ might just see the club enter offers.
There have been a number of reports suggesting Wolves are currently looking at other goalkeepers.
In recent days, there have been a few claims that the club are looking at Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal, with Chelsea also keen.
Jose Sa situation will be very interesting
So Sa is supposedly ready to leave Wolves and it will certainly be interesting to see what happens with him this summer.
The £7 million signing from Olympiacos actually finished the 2023/24 season in decent form in comparison to his teammates, and he has definitely proven himself as a capable Premier League goalkeeper during his time at Molineux.
Sa can be rash, and doesn’t distribute amazingly well. Indeed, some coaches at the club are said to have concerns about this. But his actual shot-stopping has never been in doubt.
Wolves should only really sell Sa if they are sure they can upgrade.
If the desire to bring in a goalkeeper who is better with his feet, then the club must also ensure that the new signing’s shot-stopping is at the very least a decent level.
