'Positive news': Dom Howson claims Sheffield Wednesday now need to do one thing to 'kick on' in 24/25

Sheffield Wednesday have been told the one thing they need to do to ‘kick on’ during the 2024/25 season.

Sheffield Wednesday‘s year is finally picking up after going six games without a win in January.

The Owls’ form quickly improved though, and eight wins from the last 14 matches saw them survive the relegation scrap by three points.

Wednesday have gone from strength to strength since the season came to an end too.

It wasn’t long beforeDanny Rohl put pen to paper on a new contract at Hillsborough, while Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer have now followed him in extending their stays.

Owls in the Park is also returning for the first time since 2019, while their transfer business already appears to be in the works.

Sheffield Wednesday are ready to ‘kick on’

With the club currently being surrounded by ‘positive news’, journalist Dom Howson has claimed they just need to do one thing now to ‘kick on’ next season.

Writing on X, he said: “Lots of positive news coming out of #SWFC right now. Now all about making the right moves in the transfer market to kick on again next season.”

Sheffield Wednesday have been particularly poor in the transfer window in recent years, with last summer seeing the likes of Ashley Fletcher, Juan Delgado and Jeff Hendrick move to Hillsborough.

Danny Rohl’s first window in charge brought more promise though, with the club already looking to re-sign James Beadle, Ike Ugbo and Ian Poveda.

Danny Rohl can tempt in high-calibre players now

The German has given off a very good first impression with his transfer business and there is no doubt he will be able to impress this time round too.

They are likely to attract even more interest this summer too, with the incoming players unlikely to be as concerned about relegation this time round.

The Owls have already been linked with the likes of Mika Biereth and Charlie Goode, who are arguably a higher calibre of players that they would have been able to tempt in last season.

Everything is heading in the right direction for the club recently, but their upcoming success could all come down to their arrivals over the next few months.
