Report: Juventus interested in signing defender who Man City are open to selling this summer

It has been reported that Juventus are keen on signing one defender from Manchester City in the summer.

Juventus will be hoping to sign as many top players as possible, with Fabrizio Romano reporting under two weeks ago that Thiago Motta is set to become their new manager.

The Italian giants finished 23 points behind Serie A winners Inter Milan in third place and will be hoping to challenge for the title next season.

Juventus are interested in signing one Man City defender in the summer

Manchester City will need to generate funds by selling some talent that they do not feel they will use in the following campaign.

It was recently reported that one of those players is Yan Couto, who City will look to offload as Pep Guardiola has no intention to play him.

The Brazilian openly admitted in March that it would be a “dream” for him to work under the Catalan.

Interestingly, the Sky Blues have been linked with a move for Jeremie Frimpong.

But TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Juventus are interested in bringing Yan Couto to Turin in the summer.

It has been claimed that Manchester City do not intend to send the 22-year-old on loan next season.

If the conditions involved in a potential deal involving Yan Courto are “favourable”, Juventus are believed to be willing to go ahead and sign the highly-rated right-back.

The right time to sell Yan Couto

In our view, if Manchester City decide to sell Yan Couto to Juventus, they would be doing so at the perfect time.

Couto’s stock is at an all-time high for helping Girona qualify for the Champions League.

Furthermore, the Curitiba-born defender seems unlikely to earn regular minutes at City due to Kyle Walker, Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji and John Stones all being quality options at right-back.

As a result, it is best for the Premier League winners to part ways with Yan Couto, bank a fee from his sale and add that to their transfer kitty.
