Report: Aston Villa growing increasingly interested in 'unique' £60m PL star who scored 11 goals this season

Aston Villa are growing increasingly interested in signing one Premier League player in the summer transfer window, as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of next season.

Villa are definitely going to be one team to watch over the summer, with Emery’s men now gearing up for a Champions League campaign after an amazing performance this past season.

Unsurprisingly, the Villans have some ambitious targets this summer.

Aston Villa have reignited their interest in Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.

Aston Villa growing increasingly interested in Eberechi Eze

And according to a report from Caught Offside, Eberechi Eze is one of the players moving up Villa’s list of targets, alongside Pedro Neto.

Eze enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Crystal Palace, scoring 11 goals as Oliver Glasner’s men proved to be one of the most impressive sides in the division in the final weeks of the season.

The 25-year-old is attracting plenty of attention. Tottenham are hoping to open talks with Palace over a potential move for Eze in the next two weeks. The ‘unique‘ England international reportedly has the green light to leave the Eagles should they receive an offer of £60 million.

Caught Offside also notes that Spurs’ interest is serious, so Villa may have some catching up to do to sign Eze.

What Gareth Southgate previously said about Crystal Palace star

Eze has understandably been receiving plaudits from all directions of late. And he has been included in the provisional England squad for Euro 2024, with Gareth Southgate once suggesting that he has been an admirer of his for a long time.

“He’s a goal threat and got nice ability and a burst of speed to go past people – to take people out of the game with his dribbling skills,” he said.

“Everybody I speak to talks brilliantly about him as a person as well.”

It would be a statement if Villa could add him to their ranks, but clearly, there are plenty of hurdles for Emery’s men to clear first.
