Report: 'Immense' £11m Leeds United player unlikely to stay at the club next season

An £11m Leeds United player is now unlikely to stay at the club next season, according to a recent report.

Following play-off final heartbreak, planning has quickly turned to next season for Daniel Farke and his chiefs.

Indeed, the Leeds boss will be drawing up a list of targets but he’ll also be preparing to lose a number of key assets to stay in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.

That said, it has just emerged that one player is unlikely to stay.

Max Wober unlikely to stay at Leeds United

According to Salzburger Nachrichten, Leeds United centre-back Max Wober is unlikely to stay at Elland Road this summer.

Wober, who has been laballed as ‘immense’, spent last season on loan at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach and whilst they are keen to sign him on a permanent, they can’t afford the deal.

Leeds signed Wober for a fee in the region of £11m in Janaury 2023 and they’d likely be keen to make a profit on any forthcoming sale.

That leaves the 26-year-old’s future in jeopardy and at this stage, he remains a Leeds player that evidently wants away.

Max Wober says he will decide his future after the Euros

Wober has confirmed that he will decide his Leeds United future after the European Championships with Austria.

“I won’t decide what to do next until after the European championship. I told my advisor that he doesn’t need to call me for four weeks. My full focus is on the tournament,” the 23-cap international said.

He also didnt rule out a return to his former club RB Salzburg.

“At 26, I don’t really fit the mould anymore, although the club would benefit from an experienced player. I had a very good time in Salzburg.”
