Report: Arsenal are currently the only team looking to sign £100m striker this summer

Arsenal are in the market for a new striker this summer.

The Gunners have been linked with almost every top striker in Europe at this point, and while rumours linking the north London club to Victor Osimhen have gone a bit quiet, they’ve never truly gone away.

Indeed, while Osimhen isn’t someone Arsenal appear to be on the brink of signing, the interest is still there, and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking to Il Napolista, the Gunners are the only team in for Osimhen right now.

Arsenal the only team looking to sign Victor Osimhen

According to Di Marzio, Arsenal are the only team in for the £100m striker at this moment in time.

“Osimhen we assume that he will go. At the moment there is only Arsenal who are far from the clause. If he were to leave, and at the moment it is not certain, the very first choice would be Lukaku, the alternative is Dovbyk from Girona,” Di Marzio said.

“Napoli are also studying a solution for Lindstrom that Lyon likes. Napoli is looking for Cambiaghi.”

Osimhen had previously been linked to numerous clubs such as Chelsea and PSG, but after managerial changes and focus shifts, it looks as though Arsenal are the last team standing in this race, for now at least.

Osimhen will have more suitors

Arsenal may be the only team that are noted to be interested in Osimhen right now, but make no mistake about it, more suitors will come out in the wash.

Indeed, it’s very early in the transfer window, and as teams start to formulate and plan ahead of the window, Osimhen will come onto the agenda of other clubs.

At the moment, it sounds as though Arsenal could have a clear path to getting this deal done, should they wish to. However, it would be a surprise if Arsenal were allowed an unchallenged run at a player as talented as Osimhen.
