What Enzo Maresca has already asked for from the club on his first day as Chelsea manager – journalist

Yesterday saw Enzo Maresca finally officially announced as the new Chelsea manager after weeks of speculation.

The Italian has been hand-picked to replace Mauricio Pochettino after he was replaced despite qualifying for Europe.

Maresca is coming to Stamford Bridge without ever managing a game in the Premier League before, and this is no doubt on the mind of a number of supporters who perhaps did not see the appointment coming.

However, he has seemingly made quite the impression on the board in the recruitment process, in particular with the plan he has in place to get the best out of Enzo Fernandez.

It has already been claimed that despite the fact he is currently on holiday, the former Leicester City boss is working hard studying last season’s games in order to get himself ready for the task ahead.

Maresca asks for data on every Chelsea player

Now, journalist Kieran Gill has taken to Twitter to state that the new boss has already asked for data on every single player at the club, including those involved in the youth setup.

He said: “Enzo Maresca has asked for Chelsea’s data room to provide performance analysis on every player from youth level to first team after agreeing to take over as head coach. Also asked for information of every person he will be working with at the training ground.”

The fact that Maresca is so keen to work with the younger players at the club is likely a massive plus when it comes to the ownership currently at Stamford Bridge.

There has been a large amount of youth players signed since the takeover, with it unclear just how many are made with a first team future in mind.

One player whose future could well be elsewhere is Omari Hutchinson, with it being reported that the Blues are open to his permanent sale after securing him on a free transfer.
