Adam Wharton sends message after England debut, Tyrick Mitchell leads Crystal Palace responses

On Monday night, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton made his England debut and impressed in the process, now he’s been sent some messages.

One of the four Crystal Palace players that Gareth Southgate named in his England squad is Adam Wharton, and while questions previously were whether he would make it to Germany, now it’s more like whether he starts.

Wharton has already proven himself to be one of the country’s best midfielders in the six months since his move to Selhurst Park.

Now, he’s just made his debut for his country and shone brightly in doing so, emphasising that the Eagles have an absolute star on their hands.

After making his Three Lions debut, Wharton sent a message on social media that received many reactions from his club teammates from Copers Cope.

Adam Wharton’s Crystal Palace teammates respond after England debut

Wharton really staked his claim for a place inside Southgate’s starting line-up this summer, and he clearly also impressed his teammates, both England and Palace.

Taking to Instagram after the game against Bosnia, Wharton wrote: “A dream come true to make my debut for my country”.

After this, he had multiple of his Palace teammates in the comments reacting.

Matheus Franca wrote: “What a player”, followed by a fire emoji and a heart.

Following this was Tyrick Mitchell who added: “Congrats broski”, followed by a fire emoji.

Chris Richards then added: “My doggggg”.

With a praise emoji, David Ozoh also sent a simple message. While Jesurun Rak-Sakyi added a fire emoji.

Joe Whitworth also commented “Legend”, while another Palace goalkeeper Remi Matthews wrote: Fully deserved mate”.

Palace loan manager Mark Bright even added a message of his own with a clapping emoji.

After impressing, Wharton stands a good chance at being used in the role Southgate had planned this summer, and may even start.

How Adam Wharton played against Bosnia for England

Against Bosnia, Wharton was a second-half substitute, getting just 28 minutes to strut his stuff and that is exactly what he did. The Palace midfielder completed 36 passes out of 36 attempts maintaining a 100% pass accuracy as per FotMob.

To be so accurate while also creating two chances for his teammates is rather remarkable and showcases how pinpoint accurate he is at finding his teammates on the pitch.

Wharton only had 37 touches of the ball, so he actually did something productive with every single touch bar one and was dispossessed zero times.

With a performance like that, Wharton has sent a huge message to Southgate and potentially nailed down a spot on the plane to Germany in the process.
