Listening to the music is the biggest part of being a Swiftie, but remaining eagle-eyed and vigilant when it comes to the visuals is part and parcel of the fandom. Costumes, social media posts, and choreography at the shows—Taylor Swift’s fans are always on the lookout for the deeper meanings embedded within. Meanings that could tease something big on the horizon. Since the Eras Tour began, fans have been quick to raise their theories, compelled to believe that Tay is leaving a trail of breadcrumbs in signal of what’s to come. Taylor Swift fan plants seeds of hope with ‘6.21’ theory
An attendee of a recent Eras Tour show has shared a video to TikTok with the caption “Can someone feed my delusions and confirm you see 6.21 or tell me what this means?”
The brief clip zooms in on the light show to the right of Taylor on stage. When people in the replies were asking where the number was visible, one helpfully replied: “Honestly it’s very faint but if you look at the bottom row of lights when they start to go away I can see it best… but again who knows!”
Drawing attention to the flashing white lights on the giant screen, some who can make out the number 6.21 have suggested it could be a sign for something special on her Friday, June 21st Eras Tour show.
“That’s when I’m seeing her at Wembley Stadium!” one fan cheered in anticipation.
As for whether there even are any hidden numbers and what that could mean, it’s up to speculation. However, somebody has pointed out that “on 6/21 Gracie releases her new album with Taylor featuring [on] track 5.” This refers to US singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, whose sophomore album The Secret Of Us is out on that day. Tay features on the fifth track Us, and Gracie has performed as a support act on the Eras Tour.
The Gracie comment already has a few thousand likes and counting. “OMG what if she brings Gracie out for surprise songs?” a fan suggested.
Other Swifties have dismissed the theory as ‘just lights’
Some fans have claimed they can see a range of different numbers presented in the light show: “I see 8.21 8.31 5.21 5.31 6.31 and 6.21.”
Others have also shared seeing multiple numbers, and if you inspect closer you can make out different digits. On the other hand, some have said they can’t see any numbers whatsoever, just lights.
“There are black lines of different shapes in front of the lights and your brain tries to fix it which is why you see numbers,” a commenter weighed in. “But they’re just lights.”
Another replied that they “Came here to say the same. She has light fixtures behind the screen and the cables and other aspects of the screen are what is giving this illusion but there are no numbers or hidden meaning.”
“I think it is just the structure behind the screen that blocks the light,” one similarly echoed. “And I think that it will look different from different spots.”
Regardless of whether the numbers are truly there or not, the Eras Tour show on the 21st will be a spectacle to behold.
