Radu Dragusin shares six-word verdict when asked about leaving Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur may sign another centre back this summer but fortunately won’t need to go into the market for two.

Ange Postecoglou needs signings this summer and the Tottenham Hotspur boss has already admitted his desire to change up the Spurs squad.

Some rumours suggest that up to 15 players could be sold by Tottenham this summer as Postecoglou seeks to move the club forward.

Fifth place wasn’t a bad finish this past season but Postecoglou wants much, much more in the coming years.

Tottenham may well go for another centre back this summer despite witnessing the blossoming partnership of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Another left-footed centre back may be required; Van de Ven’s injuries left Tottenham in a tricky spot and a natural option as cover and competition could be needed.

Ben Davies just isn’t suited for that role in a Postecoglou system but Tottenham may have been fearing needing to sign two centre backs rather than just the one.

Radu Dragusin clarifies Tottenham Hotspur future

Tottenham brought in Radu Dragusin in January, viewing him as ideal competition for Romero and Van de Ven.

The Romanian had dazzled for Genoa in Serie A but found first-team minutes hard to come by at Tottenham.

Dragusin started just four Premier League games but did show some promise, especially in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The lack of game time sparked rumours of a rather swift return to Italy.

Reports in May suggested that Napoli were interested in signing Dragusin with a £40million price tag now on his head.

Leaving Tottenham after just six months would have been a bizarre call from Dragusin, who would have surely known that Romero and Van de Ven would be the first-choice pairing.

Dragusin still figures to start for Romania at Euro 2024 and he was in their back line for a 0-0 draw against Bulgaria on Tuesday night.

The Tottenham centre back was then asked about a potential move away from North London, but gave a rather blunt answer to Prosport.

“Yes, I will stay at Tottenham,” said Dragusin, completely ruling out a transfer this summer.

Antonio Conte may be left disappointed

Dragusin will be looking to shine at Euro 2024 before heading back to Tottenham to try and impress Postecoglou.

The route to first-team action is a difficult one but at least Dragusin wants to stay and won’t leave Tottenham needing to find a replacement.

One man who may be left disappointed is former Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte.

Conte is on the verge of being appointed as the new Napoli boss and, rather unsurprisingly, wants new signings.

Reports from Naples last week suggested that Dragusin may even head on loan to Napoli to form part of Conte’s back line.

Dragusin seemingly isn’t interested though and will knuckle down at Tottenham, leaving Conte to look elsewhere.
