‘The feeling is’: David Ornstein says £55m player is more likely to sign for Arsenal than Man Utd

Strikers are the order of the day in the Premier League this summer.

Indeed, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all in the market for a new centre-forward this summer, and one player who has been linked to all three clubs is Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko is said to be a key target for all three of these clubs, but according to David Ornstein, there’s one team that is lagging behind in the race to sign Sesko.

Ornstein shared what he’s been hearing about Sesko.

“He’s a high performer, and he was attracting interest when he was at Salzburg,” Ornstein said.

“We come to the modern day and I’ve spoken before about how highly Arsenal think of him. He’s pretty much top or very prominent on their list of candidates.

“Things aren’t actually happening with him just yet, there are lots of conversations, his agent has been very active on social media.

“Manchester United, it’s more complicated there because of the managerial situation, financial situation, football situation the feeling is that a club like Arsenal are perhaps ahead of them at this time because they’re very settled, very competitive and it’s a good time to be involved at Arsenal.”

Arsenal move makes more sense

Ornstein says that Arsenal are ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Sesko, and that’s not a surprise.

For a start, the Gunners are in the Champions League next season, while United only just squeezed into the Europa League, while there are huge question marks over Erik ten Hag’s future at the club.

Simply put, Arsenal are in a stronger and more stable position than United, and that bodes well for them in any transfer race, let alone a race for a promising young player with a £55m release clause.
