Joe Lolley says player Nuno is yet to use at Nottingham Forest was the toughest to face in training

Joe Lolley has now named a player Nuno Espirito Santo is yet to use at Nottingham Forest as the hardest to defend against in training.

The 31-year-old spent four years at the City Ground from 2018 to 2022, sharing a dressing room with 92 different teammates in that time.

Interestingly, Joe Lolley named a player who is still at Nottingham Forest – but one who rarely plays – as the toughest to face in training…

Joe Lolley names Alex Mighten as best in training at Nottingham Forest

The Sydney FC No.10 chose Alex Mighten when asked to name the player who caused him the most problems in training at Nottingham Forest.

Lolley namedropped the 22-year-old when answering questions from fans on his temporary Instagram story.

Mighten is yet to make an appearance under Nuno after spending time at KV Kortrijk and Port Vale during the 2023/24 campaign.

That loan to Port Vale was far from ideal, as the Nottingham Forest academy graduate bumped into Darren Moore once again – who never really took to him during a separate loan at Sheffield Wednesday during the 2022/23 campaign.

In total, the man from Connecticut has only played seven minutes of Premier League football ever since Nottingham Forest won promotion under Steve Cooper in 2022.

That one outing came in the 2-0 defeat against Newcastle on Nottingham Forest’s first game back in England’s top-flight, so it has been a while since Mighten appeared for the Garibaldi.

Clearly – despite his ability to torment Nottingham Forest teammates in training, as Lolley experienced – the winger is not doing enough to impress coaches at the City Ground.

Last chance saloon for 22-year-old

Crucially, Mighten only has 12 months remaining on his contract at Nottingham Forest.

Therefore, the England U20 international really must step up in the 2024/25 campaign – wherever he is playing his football – and show Nottingham Forest they have a talent worth persisting with.

If Mighten endures another difficult campaign – either away on loan or at the City Ground – he may well be released next summer.
