‘According to my information’: Arsenal will only sign ‘world class’ player if his price drops now – journalist

Arsenal are keen to add a new midfielder to their squad this summer.

The likes of Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz have been linked with a move to north London as of late, but, perhaps the most intriguing link has been to Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes.

Indeed, Guimaraes has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent times, but according to Ben Jacobs, this move isn’t necessarily likely.

Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal unlikely

Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Jacobs has stated that Arsenal will only move for Bruno Guimaraes if his price drops significantly.

“Yeah I don’t think we’re going to see Alexander Isak leave, that will be a near automatic rejection.

“With Bruno Guimaraes it is a bit different, there is a release clause there.

“We should point out that Bruno isn’t forcing his way out of the club, he likes it at Newcastle. Let’s wait and see, there’s still the possibility that Manchester United move. Arsenal will only move if the price drops significantly, they won’t trigger the clause according to my information.”

Bruno Guimaraes’ price won’t drop

Arsenal will only sign Guimaraes if his price drops, and, unfortunately for Arsenal, that isn’t likely.

Newcastle won’t be keen to sell their star midfielder this summer for a reduced price, that’s for sure.

Guimaraes is a player who is worth every penny of his £100m release clause, and Newcastle have every right to hold out for that sort of fee.

Arsenal do have money to spend this summer, but with a striker on the agenda, they may not be able to spend such a huge amount on a midfield player this summer as they did last year with Declan Rice.

The ‘world class‘ midfielder would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal, but sadly, he may just be a tad too expensive for the Gunners this time around.
