Report: Thiago Silva is about to break Brazilian football record after leaving Chelsea

Reports from Brazil have claimed that Thiago Silva could be about to break a record after his departure from Chelsea has been confirmed.

The veteran defender is set to join Fluminense on a free transfer after his four-year tenure at Stamford Bridge was brought to an end.

The response Silva recieved after his final game finished showed just how popular he was amongst his teammates. Suspended Reece James made a move to see him as soon as the game came to an end.

It has already been hinted by the player himself that his story in West London may not actually be over yet.He is currently completing his coaching badges and clearly absolutely loves the club.

At the age of nearly 40 though, moving on looks the right decision, however his quality and ability to look after himself means he still has some to give the game.

He is about to be announced as a new Fluminense player, rejoining the side from his home country who he played for in the past.

Thiago Silva set to break record for unveiling attendance

According to Globo, the club are expecting a record attendance for his unveil. More than 50,000 tickets have already been sold.

It goes on to say that due to the demand, and the cries of Silva’s wife, Belle, they are also prepared to open a section of the stadium they were not planning to.

When it comes to his replacement at Stamford Bridge, it looks as if Chelsea are about to make their first addition of the summer.

Tosin Adarabioyo set to join Chelsea

Tosin Adarabioyo has left Fulham after his contract came to an end, and he has already undergone his medical ahead of a move down the road in West London.

It is expected this will not be the only defensive addition they make in the window, and there is a chance they may be looking to replace Trevoh Chalobah too if he is sold.
