'What I'm hearing is': Fabrizio Romano says PSG now really want to sign £100k-a-week Man City star this summer

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that PSG are keen on signing one Manchester City player in particular.

Recently, it was claimed that Luis Enrique’s side have left the race to sign Bernardo Silva — a player who has seemingly been on their radar for a few years.

It seems like PSG have decided to turn their attention towards the other talent at the Etihad Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano: PSG hold “strong interest” in one Man City star

The Parisians will be hoping to reinforce their attack, now that Kylian Mbappe has signed for Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old scored a staggering 44 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants during the 2023/2024 season.

But now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his official YouTube channel that PSG are interested in landing Julian Alvarez.

Romano said: “There is interest from Atletico Madrid but what I’m hearing is that there is also strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain, so several clubs are asking information about Julian Alvarez.”

Interestingly, it seems like clubs like PSG and Atletico Madrid are aware that Julian Alvarez is aching to play more regular football.

“Why? Because they know from those close to the player that at the moment, Julian wants to play more. This is why many clubs are starting to move around Julian Alvarez for the summer transfer window.”

Fabrizio Romano has specified that Manchester City will not let PSG or any interested club sign Julian Alvarez for a bargain fee while ruling out a loan move.

“Could be one of the prizes for the summer transfer window but there is one crucial point. Manchester City are showing no interest in a loan and absolutely no interest in making it cheap.”

“So, Manchester City are not letting Julian Alvarez leave easily and not for easy money at all. So, in case something will happen if Julian wants to play more, [it] has to be for a big amount of money.”

Romano added: “This is the point and at the moment, Manchester City are still hopeful to keep the player at the club this summer. So, the situation is really hopeful around Julian Alvarez and at the moment, Paris Saint-Germain are asking for information about Julian.”

The Italian journalist went on to claim: “They have a very clear project around Julian Alvarez but for sure, it could be an interesting situation in case the player asks to leave.”

Man City should demand a king’s ransom for Alvarez if they plan to sell him

If Manchester City decide to sell Julian Alvarez this summer, they should demand PSG to pay the big bucks to secure his services.

The £100,000-a-week man is one of the best strikers in Europe and he has proven his class in the Premier League.

Furthermore, Alvarez is also capable of playing as a number 10, making him a versatile forward — a profile of player every club could do with.

Notably, the 24-year-old’s CV makes him a unique prospect in today’s game, having won two Premier League titles, a treble and the World Cup with Argentina.

PSG will surely be aware that to persuade Manchester City to sell him, they will have to pay a king’s ransom to sign one of their most crucial squad players.
