Aston Villa and Tottenham in talks with transfer target Andreas Pereira

Aston Villa’s links to Conor Gallagher are currently dominating the news front however, another Premier League star could make the move to the Midlands this summer.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte names Villa as one of the clubs interested in signing Fulham ace Andreas Pereira.

The report details that the Brazil international is likely to leave Fulham this summer, with Newcastle, Spurs and Villa expressing an interest.

While the 28-year-old maintains that his future will be decided after the Copa America, talks have already begun between the interested parties as the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian.

It’s claimed that Villa could be in the driving seat to lure Pereira to Villa Park due to the midfielder’s desire to play in the Champions League.

Globo Esporte understand that Fulham would desire a price in the region of £30m to acquire the Brazilian, who has two years remaining on his current contract.

Pereira impressed in the 2023/24 Premier League

Lauded as ‘outstanding’ by Maro Silva, as per Fulham’s official website, Pereira could be a strong option for Emery to consider this summer.

Very few created more chances than the Brazilian in the Premier League last season (84), falling behind only Bruno Fernandes, Martin Odegaard, Pascal Gross and Bukayo Saka, via Statmuse.

Emery could add a strong creator to his side in preparation for the 2024/25 season, with it key that further quality is installed into his squad to compete once more.

At £30m, Pereira could be a cost-effective prospect for the Villans to purchase as the market for playmakers with Premier League experience is narrow, particularly of those performing at the level of the 28-year-old.

Links to the former Manchester United starlet are interesting considering Villa’s ties to Ross Barkley and Gallagher, two midfielders of similar profiles.

It’s clear that Emery and Monchi are eager to bolster the depth in that area this summer, which is an encouraging sign so early into the domestic interval.

Securing a Champions League spot last term could prove to be integral for Villa this summer, with Pereira and many others destined to desire Champions League football.
