Report: Club wants to sell £12.6m Spurs target deemed one of the most promising rising stars in the world

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the transfer market as Ange Postecoglou looks to build on his solid maiden season at N17.

Spurs hit the ground running under Postecoglou last season and, though they faded towards the end of the campaign, they still finished fifth.

Tottenham were in top-four contention for most of the season and were even dark horses for the title at one point.

The job now for the Spurs hierarchy is to strengthen the squad so they can last the distance next season.

Serie A has been a decent shopping location for Tottenham in recent years, and we may yet see more new arrivals at Spurs from Italy.

A report has now emerged regarding a Serie A-based Spurs target who has been described as ‘one of the most promising young footballers of his generation’.

The player in question is Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior and, according to Tuttojuve, the Bianconeri actively want to sell him this summer.

Juve apparently want 15million (£12.6million) for the Englishman, whose likeliest destinations at present are Bologna, Atalanta and Manchester United.

However, the report also says you cannot rule out Tottenham or Newcastle United in the race for Iling-Junior.

Who is Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester United target Samuel Iling-Junior?

Samuel Iling-Junior came through the ranks at Chelsea but opted to join the Juve academy in 2010.

The 20-year-old went on to break into the Juve first-team and has made 45 appearances to date.

However, Iling-Junior appears to be surplus to requirements, hence the intensifying speculation over his future.

As we’ve seen many times in the recent past, a player being out of favour at Juve doesn’t mean they’re bad in any way, shape of form.

For instance, Tottenham signed Dejan Kulusevski, who struggled in Turin, but has had a fruitful time at Spurs thus far.

The Juve website deemed Iling-Junior ‘one of the most promising young footballers of his generation’ when they shared a video of his goals just last year.

The video, posted on YouTube embedded on the Juve website, showcases the ‘skill, speed, and agility that have made him a standout player.’

Likened to Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, Iling-Junior is a top talent and it would be good to see him get a chance at Tottenham.
