Report: Nottingham Forest have 'everything agreed' for first signing but selling club now want to sink deal

Nottingham Forest have now seen a potential twist in one of their negotiations to complete their first signing of the summer.

The summer transfer window may still be several days away from opening, but Forest are already putting plans in place to make a quick start in the market.

But Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side are one of the clubs in the Premier League who are going to have to tread carefully this month.

Numerous sides are needing to sell players by June 30 PSR deadline to avoid any penalties going into the new campaign.

Evangelos Marinakis has already seen his side deducted points last season for failing to comply with the financial regulations put in place.

Nevertheless, Forest remain in search of new players, but they may have been hit with a potential blow in their pursuit of one of their top targets.

Forest may have been slapped with another transfer blow

This week has certainly been a rollercoaster when it comes to transfer speculation at the City Ground.

Striker Che Adams was reported as being close to agreeing a move with Forest by the reliable Fabrizio Romano earlier in the week.

However, the following day, it was reported that Adams had decided against a move to Forest in favour of joining Wolves.

And now it seems as if there may yet be another twist in Forest’s interest surrounding the Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel.

According to reports in Brazil, Corinthians’ board are now trying to persuade the goalkeeper to stay following interest from Forest.

However, the report does claim everything is now agreed between the player’s side and Forest to complete the deal.

Although the efforts have been made to keep the 25-year-old in Brazil, it is believed the attempts are currently being made in vain.

Forest eyeing business early in the window

Although Forest are one of the clubs who are needing to sell players this month, it seems they are not looking to waste any time in bringing new players through the doors.

This will be Nuno’s first summer at the helm and will be the first opportunity he will have had with the squad to implement his ways over a summer pre-season tour.

With Forest just scraping Premier League survival, getting their squad together and ready to go as soon as possible will surely be of huge benefit to Nuno.

However, there may still be concerns the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White could leave with teams like Tottenham Hotspur said to be interested.
