Unai Emery will have been wowed by £30m Aston Villa target after MOTM performance

One rumoured target of Aston Villa may have caught Unai Emery’s attention this week as he shone on international duty.

As the transfer window moves closer, Aston Villa have already been linked with several top talents ahead of next season.

Unai Emery and Monchi will be eager to bolster the current squad ahead of the club’s Champions League quest, despite Villa’s PSR concerns.

One player who has been linked with the club would have caught the eye of Emery last night, as he shone for his country.

Aston Villa transfer target Andreas Pereira impressed for Brazil

Last week, it was revealed that Aston Villa are interested in Andreas Pereira, as the midfielder looks set to leave Fulham this summer.

The Brazil international, who is also being eyed by Tottenham, is said to be valued at around £30m, making for an interesting prospect for Villa.

Pereira captured the eye of many for his displays for the Cottagers over the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, with his form now continuing into the summer.

On Saturday night, the 28-year-old netted his first goal for Brazil in a pre-Copa America friendly against Mexico.

Pereira was crowned Brazil’s Man of the Match for his performance, seeing him head into the Copa America full of confidence.

It’s encouraging to see from a Villa point of view, as the midfielder seems to be going from strength to strength, making for positive viewing if links between player and club develop.

Pereira would be a top quality signing for Villa

Pereira impressed alongside Douglas Luiz in Brazil’s three-man midfield against Mexico, as the Selecao secured a late 3-2 win against Mexico.

It will be an interesting summer for both players, with one being linked to Villa and one being linked away from the club.

Pereira’s redemption in Europe is something to admire, given that before signing for Fulham, he was on loan back in Brazil with Flamengo, far from being in Manchester United’s plans.

It looked almost impossible that the 28-year-old’s career would be revived in Europe; however, the Villa target has found his place in the Premier League once more.

While Spurs also want to sign the Brazilian, Villa could use their Champions League qualification as an advantage to lure the midfielder to Villa Park this summer.

From impressing at club level to netting his first international goal ahead of a busy summer with Brazil, it’s certainly a strong time for Villa to be linked with Pereira.
