Everton are now trying to sign ‘complete’ striker, they want to wrap up the deal quickly - journalist

Everton are pushing for the signing of a Chelsea player, with journalist Ben Jacobs claiming the Toffees are hoping to wrap up a deal quickly.

It was expected to be a fairly quiet summer at Everton in terms of incomings as the club look to balance its books.

Kevin Thelwell is likely to be on the lookout for opportunities and is reportedly readying a contract offer for Wilfred Ndidi, who looks set to become a free agent later this month.

Jack Harrison is also edging closer towards a switch back to Goodison Park, with talks over extending his loan deal for another year progressing.

But according to Ben Jacobs, Everton are currently in talks with Chelsea over a £30 million deal for one of their academy products.

Everton in talks over Armando Broja deal

Much like Everton, it’s no secret that Chelsea are looking to offload players ahead of June 30.

But not many would have expected the Toffees to be the side ready to bring in players this month.

According to Jacobs, Everton are pushing to sign Armando Broja, with a fee worth around £30 million being discussed.

The journalist claims that Everton are hoping for a ‘quick breakthrough’ while the two clubs remain in contact.

Everton need a new striker

Much has been made about the need for Everton to sell players this month so a move for Broja will certainly raise eyebrows.

With that being said, it’s evident that Sean Dyche is in need of extra options up front.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin fared well in terms of his fitness last season but netted just seven times in 32 Premier League appearances.

As for Beto, his first season in Merseyside was hardly convincing and he scored just six times in 39 appearances in all competitions.

While Broja hasn’t exactly been prolific for Chelsea, he’s yet to get a proper run in the side in west London.

The Albanian striker showed plenty of promise during a spell at Southampton on loan but has failed to establish himself as a regular.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham but managed just eight appearances in the league under Marco Silva.

Lauded as a ‘complete’ striker, Broja would certainly provide stern competition for Calvert-Lewin for a place in Dyche’s side.
