Report: How much Nottingham Forest need to raise by June 30th and how those at the City Ground feel about it

Nottingham Forest fans must be tired of hearing the vague line that sales are needed before June 30th.

In order to avoid another incident with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) – four points were deducted last season – the Reds must sell, although nobody has been able to tell supporters exactly how much money needs to be raised, until now.

So, what is the mystery figure? Let’s take a look…

Nottingham Forest learn how much cash is needed

A story from the Telegraph now claims that Nottingham Forest only need to raise £20m in sales before June 30th.

It is said that those at the City Ground feel relaxed about the situation, as this figure is a lot less than initially expected.

The Telegraph add that £25m has already been banked and accounted for in the finances from Orel Mangala moving to Lyon on a permanent basis.

A number of high earners have also left the City Ground after Felipe, Cheikhou Kouyate, Wayne Hennessey and Harry Arter were released.

Furthermore, Nottingham Forest will not be signing Divock Origi, Gonzalo Montiel, Nuno Tavares and Giovanni Reyna permanently after their respective loans ended, saving more money in wages.

Therefore, Nottingham Forest could satisfy PSR rules by simply selling a number of fringe players.

Who could leave the City Ground?

Nottingham Forest have already put a number of players up for sale, and there is interest in one.

The Telegraph believe Joe Worrall, Matt Turner, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Lewis O’Brien, Emmanuel Dennis and Josh Bowler are all available this summer.

In regards to Worrall, a story from Football Insider claims that Sheffield United are keen, with Nottingham Forest hoping to make £4m from the sale.

There has also been a lengthy update on Vlachodimos, who The Athletic believe is frustrated at the City Ground and wants to leave as soon as possible – the Reds have placed a £4.5m price tag on the Greece international.

If those two exits materialise, it will hopefully see Nottingham Forest recoup around £8m – so that £20m figure is certainly reachable if interest in the other players occurs relatively soon.
