Heung-min Son admits he’s starting to feel ‘uncomfortable’ after what he’s been reading recently

Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son has admitted something he’s read recently has left him feeling uncomfortable.

A busy 2023/24 campaign for the South Korean is now finally in the books having finally played the last of his games for his nation.

Heung-min Son was able to score twice in the recent 7-0 victory over Thailand and he played the full 90 minutes of the game against China.

After ending the campaign as Tottenham‘s top scorer, Son will now have the opportunity to rest up ahead of an Asian tour in Ange Postecoglou‘s pre-season.

The Australian’s first term at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium provided improvement as Spurs ended the campaign with Europa League qualification.

However, as the 31-year-old now heads into his summer break, the Spurs captain has admitted he has read something that’s made him a little uncomfortable.

Heung-min Son left uncomfortable about Tottenham speculation

The summer transfer window is finally set to open with Tottenham having already made a start to their business with the loan signing of Timo Werner.

Exits will be on the menu for Tottenham with a list of 15 players believed to have been made available for sale by the club this summer.

Even Son has been linked with a potential move away to Fenerbahce following Jose Mourinho’s appointment at the Turkish side.

However, Daniel Levy has already squashed any speculation of the South Korean leaving Tottenham over the coming months.

Following his latest game for South Korea, the 31-year-old touched on the rumours circulating about a future away from Hotspur Way.

“I have not had any exchanges with the club. I don’t have anything to say at this point,” Son told the media.

“I feel a little uncomfortable with the situation. I am going to keep doing my best for Tottenham. I still have terms left on my contract.”

Heung-min Son contract latest at Tottenham

Going into the summer, Son has just one year remaining on his deal with Tottenham having joined back in 2015.

But there is a belief that both Tottenham and Son want to secure his future in north London beyond 2025.

Talks are said to be underway over a new deal and it is something expected to be completed over the coming months.

Son ended the 2023/24 campaign as the club’s top scorer in the wake of Harry Kane’s exit from the club so having him remain at the club is of huge importance.

Even though he turned 32-years-old in the coming weeks, he is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down just yet.
