5 Chelsea players Crystal Palace should consider in Michael Olise swap amid reports - Opinion

According to the latest reports, Crystal Palace could actually be offered a swap deal to let Michael Olise go this summer, here’s five options.

The transfer story of Michael Olise’s potential exit from Selhurst Park is sure to dominate the summer, as it has already done so at an early stage.

It came according to The Telegraph who have reported that Chelsea are adamant they’ll not have to pay more than the £60m Champions League club release fee for Olise this summer.

The report explains that “willing to offer players in exchange as part of a bid for Olise to try to convince Palace” to let the French winger depart this summer.

Here are five potential players who could potentially be of interest to Crystal Palace in the event of a swap.

Noni Madueke

Option number one is Noni Madueke and this move would make the most sense and it’s effectively like-for-like as both are right-sided forwards.

Despite only joining Chelsea from PSV in January 2023, Madueke already is looking for a new challenge as he’s struggled to establish himself in the poorly run Chelsea team.

Despite only featuring for 1,591 minutes in 34 appearances, he scored eight and assisted three which is a very healthy tally for a bit-part player.

Palace has been linked with having an interest in Madueke as recently as December.

Armando Broja

The second option Palace could potentially be keen on is striker Armando Broja, a player that the Eagles have been linked with already this year with interest in April.

Broja would strengthen the striker position for Palace, with this potentially freeing up funds to dedicate elsewhere.

Broja would be an excellent addition to replace the potentially outgoing Odsonne Edouard in Oliver Glasner’s squad.

Trevoh Chalobah

Despite the arrival of Chadi Riad, Palace could yet be finished strengthening their centre-half options.

This could mean the club would be keen on Trevoh Chalobah should he be included in a part swap with Olise this summer.

He’s another that Palace have been interested in over the past few months and was even said to be keen on making a bid.

Raheem Sterling

Another potential interesting proposition is Raheem Sterling with the 29-year-old looking likely to depart this summer.

However, he enjoyed a decent season for Chelsea, scoring eight and assisting four in 31 Premier League appearances.

Palace have already been credited with an interest in Sterling with GiveMeSport reporting so earlier this week.

A player of Sterling’s quality would be an incredible coup for Palace and no doubt be a commercially viable signing while he’s also still absolutely a superb pickup on the field.

Marc Cucurella

Finally, Palace may consider a deal including Marc Cucurella with the left-back having the qualities to compete with Tyrick Mitchell.

Cucurella hasn’t been linked with Palace, however with a left-sided defender among the positions that Glasner wants to strengthen.

With this in mind, getting Cucurella as well as a huge chunk of cash for Olise wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
