1 killed, 1 injured after vehicle runs through red light on N.J. road, cops say

A 41-year-old woman was killed and another driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Atlantic County, authorities said.

Elizabeth Walton was driving west on Black Horse Pike in Hamilton at about 7:50 p.m when her vehicle went through a red light at Hamilton Commons Drive and struck another vehicle, township police said Friday.

Walton’s vehicle then struck a large traffic light stanchion, officials said. Walton, of Egg Harbor Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car — an 18-year-old woman from the Mays Landing section of Hamilton — was hospitalized with injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
