'Top-quality': Ian Wright wowed by Euro 2024 player Liverpool reportedly want to sign, was 'brilliant' last night

Liverpool are set for a busy summer on the transfer front as they look to give Arne Slot the best possible start as Reds boss.

A new era is under way at Liverpool, with Slot replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout, and the club will want to give him all the tools to hit the ground running.

This summer will also see some of the world’s best players – and many exciting talents – put themselves in the shop window at Euro 2024 and the Copa America.

The player in question is Jamal Musiala. The Independent reported in April that the Reds are among a number of top European clubs looking to buy the Bayern Munich star this summer.

Musiala’s contract runs until the summer of 2026 and there haven’t been any significant updates with regards to a renewal as things stand.

On Friday night, the 21-year-old got on the scoresheet for Germany as they thrashed Scotland 5-1 in their Euro 2024 opener in Munich, and was a thorn in their side all night.

What has been said about Liverpool target Jamal Musiala after Euro 2024 opener?

As per The Independent, Musiala’s ‘movement was just far too clever, far too quick, for Scotland to cope with. Some magic footwork on the run.

‘Just tore at Scotland after the restart knowing they couldn’t match him. Standing ovation when he was subbed off.’

Ian Wright was blown away by Musiala’s efforts and, speaking on ITV after the game, he sung the reported Liverpool target’s praises.

“The opportunities that he got in respects of getting on the ball and taking people on, you could see there with his feet, that’s what we are seeing,” he said (14/6/2024, 22:07).

‘You know, yes, we are talking about a Scotland side who were very poor today, but at the same time, he was brilliant with the moments he had. Because that’s what he is – a top-quality player.”

Musiala would be an absolutely immense signing for Liverpool. At just 21 years of age, he looks like he could become one of the next superstars of the game.

Admittedly, he’d be a difficult signing to pull off, given the competition for his services, but the Reds will certainly fancy their chances if Bayern show any signs of being willing to cash in.
