Tottenham fans can’t stop talking about Radu Dragusin after Romania display against Ukraine at Euro 2024

Tottenham supporters discussed Radu Dragusin as the defender featured for Romania in their Euro 2024 clash with Ukraine.

Spurs are well-represented at Euro 2024, with four stars competing in the huge tournament over the summer.

While Guglielmo Vicario was an unused substitute for Italy and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg struggled in his opening match with Denmark, Micky van de Ven made an appearance from the bench for the Netherlands in their win over Poland.

Then there’s Dragusin, who is a key part of Romania’s hopes of qualifying from their group in the competition.

The 22-year-old has struggled for minutes since joining Tottenham from Genoa in the January transfer window.

However, the defender was still relied upon for his nation as they dismantled Ukraine in their opening Euro 2024 match.

Radu Dragusin praised for role in Romania win over Ukraine

Romania kickstarted their tournament in perfect fashion as they put three beyond Ukraine to win the first clash 3-0.

Goals from Nicolae Stanciu, Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus sent supporters in the stadium wild with jubilation.

While the goalscorers have taken the headlines, Dragusin certainly played an important role in the match.

The Spurs star made some crucial interceptions to deny Ukraine in the early stages when the opposition were in the ascendency.

It has led plenty of onlooking supporters to laud the defender after his display, with one fan saying on social media: “Dragusin has been immense.”

While another added: “Ange, hear me out. Back 3 of Romero, VDV & Dragusin, with wing-backs of Porro & Udogie.”

One supporter believes that Tottenham have had a bargain landing Dragusin, saying: “The Dragusin is one hell of a player, and he’s as strong as an ox.. we’ve had a touch signing him.” while someone else pleaded that he must be in the team next season: “thfc have to find a way to get Dragusin into the Spurs team. He is top drawer!”

Meanwhile, there’s been plenty of time to enjoy the Romania fans chanting for Dragusin around the stadium.

Radu Dragusin’s Tottenham future

There will be questions over the next season surrounding whether Dragusin can secure a position in the Tottenham team going forward.

At just 22 years old, the defender has shown he is more than capable of being an aggressive, front-footed option at the back.

However, with limited game time so far, it has been difficult for him to justify a place in Ange Postecoglou’s team selection so far.

A strong Euro 2024 could change that though, before questions turn towards his playing time and his future at Hotspur Way.
