Everton submit bid for 'incredible' £20m attacker they tried to sign last summer - journalist

Everton have launched a bid for an ‘incredible’ £20m-rated attacker who they tried to sign last summer, according to a journalist.

Sean Dyche’s side stayed up with relative ease last term despite being handed an eight-point deduction, finishing in 15th on 40 points.

Now, the onus will be on the former Burnley boss to push them up the league and into mid-table, though, to do that, he’ll need heavy investment in the squad.

With finances expected to be limited, the club will have to be shrewd in the window, that said, they’ve just submitted a bid for a £20m-rated attacker.

Everton submit bid to sign Iliman Ndiaye

According to journalist Santi Aouna, Everton have submitted a bid to sign Marseille attacker Iliman Ndiaye.

The amount of the bid has not yet been revealed but considering the Ligue 1 club only signed him for £20m last summer, it’s unlikely they’d be willing to let him go for much less.

The Toffees tried to sign Ndiaye before Marseille swooped in and have had a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old.

Aouna claims the Senegalese forward is a priority signing for Dyche and there is a belief that he’d be willing to return to England less than a year on from his Sheffield United departure.

Iliman Ndiaye statistics

Ndiaye netted four goals whilst laying on five assists last term, operating in a number of different positions across the forward line.

Some of his FBref statistics are particularly impressive, as he ranks in the top nine per cent for pass completion per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe, evincing his proficiency on the ball.

Further, he sits in the top 18 per cent for successful take-ons, amplifying his terrific dribbling ability.

Ndiaye is a profile Everton are missing, so he’d be a really exciting acquisition.
