Report: West Ham agree deal to sign Premier League player to replace 25-year-old

So West Ham United have apparently struck a deal to sign an extremely experienced player this summer.

And with one player coming in, one could be set to leave West Ham as well, as Julen Lopetegui embarks on a big reshuffle.

The West Ham boss is plotting moves to sign at least six new players this summer, with as many as 12 Hammers being linked with the London Stadium exit door.

Lopetegui needs to strengthen his squad in pretty much every single position before the start of the new season.

David Moyes badly mismanaged his squad over the past two years and as a result, he left behind an incredibly unbalanced and ageing group of players.

As well as the Scot did at the London Stadium, he certainly didn’t build a competitive squad with the future in mind.

Lopetegui is clearly trying to address that, and he has already signed Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras.

Now, another new signing has apparently been completed…

West Ham close in on Wes Foderingham signing

The experienced goalkeeper looks set to be London Stadium bound this summer.

West Ham have agreed a deal to sign Wes Foderingham on a free transfer according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth – after weeks of speculation pointing towards the transfer being struck.

He is coming to West Ham to replace Nathan Trott, with the Hammers goalkeeper set to join FC Copenhagen.

The 33-year-old was released by Sheffield United this summer, and is now all set to join the Hammers on a free transfer.

I have to say, I think this a smart deal from the Hammers, in spite of what some people are saying.

Having a solid and dependable number three goalkeeper is absolutely vital, and Foderingham is a big upgrade on Trott in my opinon.

The 25-year-old has never played at the very highest level, and a move out to Denmark should suit him perfectly.

Foderingham will serve as one of our homegrown players, and let’s face it, he won’t play for us unless there is a real injury crisis at the London Stadium.

The fact that he’s available on a free transfer this summer makes a move to sign him an absolute no-brainer in my opinion.
