Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur could be set for an exit over the summer transfer window, with reports claiming contact has been made.
The Uruguayan international struggled for minutes under Ange Postecoglou last season, with the Tottenham boss favouring a midfield pairing of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr.
The 26-year-old had to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament injury early in the campaign, while torn ankle ligaments kept him out for a few weeks.
13 starts and one goal proved to be a difficult season for the midfielder, who had an electric start to his career at Hotspur Way.
After joining Tottenham from Juventus in January 2022, Bentancur scored five goals and bagged two assists at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
A knee injury that followed coincided with a downturn in form for the Lilywhites, with Antonio Conte eventually dismissed.
With Bentancur once playing such a pivotal role, there’s now a chance that he could be leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

With uncertainty surrounding his future, Bentancur has been linked with a potential transfer in the summer window.
A report from Turkish outlet Takvim claims that contact has already started between the midfielder and Galatasaray over a switch.
Discussions were claimed to cover the financial package that would come with a move, as two years remain on his deal at Spurs.
Galatasaray finished top of the Turkish Super Lig, winning the title and booking a place in next season’s Champions League.
As a result, the team are looking to bolster their squad with depth and quality, turning to Bentancur as their number one option for the midfield.
