The Villans are said to be in talks with Juventus over a deal that would see Douglas Luiz head to Turin and two players coming to B6.

Villa have reportedly also agreed to sell Tim Iroegbunam to Everton, while talks are said to be ongoing over Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen.

Now, reports are doing the rounds claiming the Villans are making good progress over the potential signing of a young Premier League forward.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery rates Lewis Dobbin highly

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton forward Lewis Dobbin has had positive talks with Villa over a potential move to B6.

CaughtOffside, who relayed the Echo’s report, said a move for the 21-year-old is now looking likely, with both clubs now in negotiations.

The latter outlet have also reported that Unai Emery is intrigued by Dobbin’s versatility and talent, and wants to see the young striker reach his full potential.

Villa and Everton are also in talks over Tim Iroegbunam, who could be leaving the Villans to join the Blues this summer.

Who is Aston Villa target Lewis Dobbin?

Lewis Dobbin is a 21-year-old forward who plies his trade for Everton and can play across the entire front line.

The Stoke-born talent joined the Toffees’ academy as a youngster and has risen through the ranks. He has also spent time on loan at Derby County.

Dobbin has made 20 competitive appearances for Everton’s senior team and scored his first career goal against Chelsea last December.

Derby’s official website has described their former loanee as a ‘skilful and pacey striker who combines intelligent movement with ruthlessness in front of goal’.

Last summer, Everton boss Sean Dyche was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying: “He’s done very well.

“I’m very pleased with him and his application – all the young lads actually have been first class. But I think he’s come out of it and is doing really well.

“We’ll see (what next) but he’s certainly laying down a marker to say ‘I’m ready and want to be part of it’, that’s for sure.”
