Joshua Kimmich set to discuss future with Bayern Munich after being linked to Arsenal

According to Sky Germany, Joshua Kimmich is expected to discuss his future with Bayern Munich after Euro 2024.

The 29-year-old is currently away with Germany at the tournament and has started each of their first two games, winning both.

The report further claims that it’s unlikely he’ll extend his contract at the Bundesliga giants, meaning he’ll have just a year left on his deal.

That would give Arsenal, who have been credited with an interest, a major boost in their pursuit to land the ‘world class’ defender.

The cost of Joshua Kimmich

Bayern won’t want to risk losing Kimmich on a free transfer next summer, so they’ll likely look to move him on this window for a somewhat discounted fee.

A £51m price tag has been touted in recent weeks, which seems a little steep given his current contract situation.

Though, admittedly for a player of his quality, any club that land him for a figure close to that would be getting their money’s worth.

Arsenal will be hoping they can land his signature ahead of rival suitors.
