Who is Antonio Nusa? Get to know the forward linked as Crystal Palace's Michael Olise replacement

Here’s a look at everything you need to know about Antonio Nusa, the youngster linked with a Crystal Palace transfer switch.

Crystal Palace are set for a busy summer transfer window, which will include plenty of incomings and a few outgoings too.

Oliver Glasner already has his first signing of the window as Palace announced the signing of Chadi Riad from Barcelona.

That’s not all though as the Eagles are also set to sign Daichi Kamada as he looks ready to reunite with the Crystal Palace boss.

It’s a huge statement of intent, with the squad bolstered ahead of another Premier League season, but there’s still a chance for exits.

One of those is Michael Olise, who is set to leave Crystal Palace to join Bayern Munich this summer, coming as a slight blow.

The funds from his deal could still be used elsewhere, namely for a replacement on the wing that may replicate his ability.

So far, one name linked with Crystal Palace has been Antonio Nusa, so with that said, here’s everything you need to know about the transfer target.

Antonio Nusa age and height

Antonio Nusa was born on April 17th, 2005, which makes him just 19 years old at the time of writing – and at the start of his professional playing career.

In terms of his height, an approximate measurement of 1.80 metres – or five foot and 11 inches – makes him average in stature.

What position does Antonio Nusa play?

Nusa plays as a winger for Club Brugge, with an ability to play on both the left and right flank – as well as behind the striker.

This versatility makes him a threat, with defenders unable to keep up with him at times, adding to his potential in the game.

What is Antonio Nusa’s playing style?

So far in his short career, Nusa has shown an ability to wreak havoc with defenders, taking them on as a progressive dribbler of the ball.

That chaos and disruption brought to the backline has led to interest from plenty of clubs, though he is capable of more.

The winger’s passing ability has also added some variety to his game, though there is plenty more that can be added.

Versatility is a key word with Nusa, with his ability to switch flanks allowing for more in-game tweaks and tactical changes.

Antonio Nusa to Crystal Palace transfer

With Olise set to leave Crystal Palace this summer, the search for a replacement is now beginning for Dougie Freedman.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nusa is one of those names on a shortlist of players that could join Palace in the coming weeks.

The youngster has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United and Brentford – though none of those moves have come about yet.

Antonio Nusa parents

Not much is known publicly about the parents of Nusa, however, there is one key detail that makes his international career interesting.

The 19-year-old is eligible to play for the Nigerian national team through his father and the Norwegian national team through his mother.

So far, the youngster has opted for Norway, making seven appearances alongside the likes of Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.

Antonio Nusa on Chelsea move

Crystal Palace aren’t the first team showing interest in a switch for Nusa, as London rivals Chelsea tried to tempt him to the Premier League in 2023.

The winger held firm on his idea of progressing before making a big wage, as he claimed in an interview with TV2.

“That’s a lot of money. A lot of money. But I try not to think about it so much. I can’t focus on that, you know. I don’t think it’s good for me.

“We are talking about very big clubs and that’s where you dream of being in the future. I try not to think about money at all.

“There’s a lot of money in football, so that’s not what’s on my mind. It’s where I can develop best and become as good as possible.”

At the current stage of his career, that mindset could help him progress to the top level, something Palace may look to tap into.
