Report: Crystal Palace unlikely to sign £20m talent who's 'up there with the very best' this summer for two reasons

Crystal Palace have a long list of targets this summer, which has only continued to grow amid the likely Michael Olise exit.

For Oliver Glasner, it appears one of the most talented players in his squad is now set to depart this summer as Michael Olise prepares for his move to Bayern Munich.

Olise will move for a reported fee of £55 million and earn a whopping £220,000-a-week wage in Germany, which is more than double his Palace wage.

Now, Crystal Palace attention will be firmly on using the money to strengthen, with the club looking to use it on two players.

But one now seems to be unlikely according to be the most recent reports.

Crystal Palace now look unlikely to sign Jobe Bellingham this summer

Excitement was high last month when reports suggested that Jobe Bellingham could be Dougie Freedman’s latest Championship-based signing.

But after some silence around that move, now the chances of this deal happening have been shared.

According to Alan Nixon’s patreon however, a move for Bellingham now looks unlikely as he names two reasons for the Eagles’ unwillingness to make a move despite his status on the shortlist.

“Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham is on the list but valued too high and also yet to play enough games to be fast-tracked to a Premier League side.”

Bellingham was thought to be part of the plan to replace Olise upon his departure, but it now seems that his £20m price tag may leave Palace priced out of signing the midfielder who has been lauded as being ‘up there with the very best’ by Mike Dodds.

Where else will Crystal Palace spend the money?

So if Bellingham is off the table, Palace will have to use the money elsewhere and have already been linked with a £25m move to sign Antonio Nusa of Club Brugge.

This follows Darren Ambrose reporting that Palace believe they’ve found a player who could be even better than Olise.

Iliman Ndiaye looked like a potential option too, however now it seems Everton are set to sign him from Marseille this summer, according to journalist Abdellah Boulma.

There are plenty of potentially excellent additions for the Eagles this summer and we cannot wait to see who is brought in.
