Report: Arsenal are interested in signing 'world class' France Euro 2024 player

The Gunners have joined the race to sign a very highly-rated France international, according to a recent report.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be keeping close tabs on a number of players at the European Championship in Germany.

The Spaniard will be eager to bolster his ranks this window as he looks to assemble a squad capable of pipping Manchester City to the Premier League title.

With that said, it has just come to light that they’re interested in signing a French midfielder.

Arsenal interested in Adrien Rabiot

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal are set to provide Manchester United and Aston Villa with competition for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The 29-year-old is currently away with France at Euro 2024 and has started all three of their group games.

The report claims that United have held preliminary talks but must remain wary of The Gunners, who could make an approach.

Rabiot, who has been labelled ‘world class’ by David Trezeguet (Juvefc.com), is set to depart Juventus on a free transfer this summer after his contract expires at the end of the month and is eager to land a lucrative deal elsewhere.

The three-year deal offered by the Serie A giants did not satisfy his demands.

Arsenal should focus on Mikel Merino deal

Arsenal have been heavily linked to Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino and TBR reported that Arteta even phoned him to try and get him to sign for the North London club.

They should focus on wrapping up a deal for the Spaniard instead as he seems desperate to make the grade at the Emirates Stadium.

Further, Merino is slightly younger, so he may have an extra year in him at the highest level.
