Sheffield Wednesday fans are all say the same thing as 2024/25 Championship fixtures released

Sheffield Wednesday announced their 2024/25 fixture list this morning.

Danny Rohl is preparing for his first full campaign in the Championship, having saved the Owls from relegation earlier this year.

Sheffield Wednesday will be desperate to get off to a good start as they look to convince new signings of their potential before deadline day.

With games against Plymouth, Sunderland, Leeds, Millwall and QPR opening the 2024/25 campaign, the Owls will be fairly confident of a positive start.

An ending that includes Stoke, Portsmouth and Oxford United doesn’t look to concerning either, so Wednesday may have got reasonably lucky with their fixtures.

Despite that, one thing that fans have noticed is that they are once again playing away on Boxing Day.

Rohl’s side are set to travel north to Middlesbrough on 26th December, having not played at Hillsborough since 2015.

Wednesday have played away to Coventry, Fleetwood, Blackburn, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle (W4 L2 D1) on Boxing Day over the last seven years.

Their last home clash came against Birmingham City in 2015, where they thrashed the Blues 3-0, thanks to goals from Fernando Forestieri and Kieran Lee.

Supporters have been left frustrated that they are once again set to take to the road after Christmas.
