We have seen a number deals either completed or teed up over the last 24 hours with Premier League clubs starting to get business rolling.

Tottenham Hotspur already have two signings done and dusted with Lucas Bergvall and Timo Werner snapped up.

Ange Postecoglou will certainly want more additions though, especially with a Europa League campaign to juggle this season.

Tottenham Hotspur close in on Archie Gray

Reports over the weekend suggested that Tottenham were looking into a move to sign Leeds United wonderkid Archie Gray.

Brentford saw a move to sign Gray fall apart over the weekend and Spurs are now nearing a deal.

Fabrizio Romano has given the move his usual ‘here we go’ catchphrase, suggesting that Gray is now set to become a Tottenham player.

Romano claims that it’s now just a case of finalising paperwork and Gray will be a Tottenham player.

18-year-old Gray was a regular for Leeds last season as they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

Primarily a midfielder, Gray spent most of last season playing as a right back.

Postecoglou loves to use inverted full backs and Gray can certainly do that, offering perfect competition for Pedro Porro.

Tottenham have really focused on signing young players in recent times and Gray fits that bill whilst serving as another homegrown player.

Joe Rodon future takes a turn

Romano’s claims suggest that Gray is heading to Tottenham for around £40million with Spurs defender Joe Rodon joining Leeds for £10million.

Rodon spent last season on loan at Leeds and played a key role in their push for promotion.

The Welshman is wanted back at Elland Road but he actually looked more likely to be making a Premier League move on Sunday.

Football London’s Alasdair Gold reported that Ipswich Town had submitted a ‘verbal offer’ for Rodon.

The Tractor Boys will be in the Premier League next season and were making their move to land Rodon to bolster Kieran McKenna’s back line.

That situation has taken a real twist though as Rodon is actually heading back to Leeds, helping Tottenham get the Gray deal done in the process.
