Harry Kane admits whether he actually still watches Tottenham games after leaving for Bayern Munich

Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer Harry Kane has been speaking about the club since moving to Bayern Munich.

It has not quite proven to be the move to the Bundesliga giants that he would have been hoping for, though.

After winning 11 consecutive German crowns before his arrival, Thomas Tuchel’s side find themselves 13 points adrift of leader Bayer Leverkusen.

With Harry Kane in the side – and Eric Dier – Bayern’s only hope of silverware this season is resting on the Champions League.

In comparison, Tottenham are progressing nicely under Ange Postecoglou as they look to seal a top four finish.

The game on Tuesday against West Ham may not have provided the result that many would have hoped for, but there were some positives to take.

Brennan Johnson continued his fine run of form in the side and Micky van de Ven made his return to the starting XI after his hamstring issue.

The Welshman had his manager uncharacteristically animated on the sideline whilst Van de Ven earned the support of the fans on social media.

But there will be another opportunity at three points for Spurs on Sunday when Nottingham Forest visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Harry Kane issues message to Heung-min Son after West Ham game

The trip to the London Stadium was a fairly quiet one for the Tottenham captain Heung-min Son.

Following the exit of his attacking partner in the summer, Son has had an excellent campaign having returned 23 goal contributions in the Premier League.

And the game against the Irons earlier this week marked a milestone for the 31-year-old as he played his 400 game for Spurs.

The likes of Van de Ven and Pedro Porro have already sent their congratulations to Son over his Instagram post.

And even former Spurs player Dele Alli issued a message to the forward in a video put together by the club.

However, there was a special congratulations sent in by Tottenham’s record goalscorer, Kane.

Since leaving Spurs, he has continued his stunning form in front of goal having netted 37 goals and provided 12 assists in his 36 Bayern appearances.

The England captain and Son combined to become the Premier League’s greatest every duo with a combined 47 goals.

He and Dier will have the opportunity to play in front of the Spurs fans once again this summer when Bayern travel to north London in August for a pre-season friendly.

Kane was just one of the former Spurs players to send his congratulations for the club’s celebratory video.

“What’s happening, Sonny. Just wanted to reach out and congratulate you on 400 appearances for Spurs. Incredible achievement, mate. Obviously been lucky enough to spend a lot of those appearances with you, so it’s been a privilege!

“Great guy, great footballer and keep it going, mate. I’m watching you every week – keep smashing it, keep scoring goals and I hope to see you soon.”

Jan Vertonghen also issued his congratulation for Son

The love for Son was made even more apparent with the video put out by the club on Saturday morning with a vast array of former players sending in messages.

From the likes of Kevin Wimmer to Christian Eriksen, everyone had good things to say about the Spurs forward.

And one player who was keen to remind Son of his contribution to his career at Spurs was the Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen.

“Hey Sonny, just wanted to congratulate you for your 400 appearance for Spurs! And yeah we’ll always be connected, you finishing off my great assist for the Puskas award [goal vs Burnley, 2019].”
