Report: Chelsea will realistically have to pay £60m to sign Premier League star this summer

Reports have shared what kind of fee Chelsea are likely to have to pay in order to make one signing this summer.

According to SportLens, the player in question is likely to cost around £60m if the Blues decide to make a move for him.

Chelsea are already linked with a number of new signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea need a striker

This is perhaps expected given the position they find themselves in the table, and the likelihood that they miss out on European football for a second successive campaign.

A striker is top of a lot of people’s agenda for what the Blues need at the end of the season, and one Premier League player has frequently popped up as a reported target.

Ivan Toney has been featuring regularly again for Brentford this season after missing the first half of the campaign due to suspension.

He quickly found the net upon his return, showing all of the top sides who have been linked with him exactly the calibre he has.

Chelsea need £60m for Toney

Arsenal and Tottenham are two other sides who are intrigued by the prospect of a deal, with them both also having the argument that they need a striker.

A report came out today that stated the Blues may be looking at a cut-price fee for Toney if they want to sign him, given the fact that his contract situation is not as strong as when he was last wanted.

However, another story has claimed that a more realistic price tag would be double what was reported, and set Chelsea back another £60m.

With a plethora of options mentioned as far as potential strikers go, it remains to be seen if the Blues decide on any big names.

Victor Osimhen is one who has been strongly linked and is expected to move this summer.
