Now that the 2023/24 campaign is coming to an end, many Sunderland fans would class the season as a failure.

The club were unable to build upon their playoff finish and instead will end the current campaign in the middle of the pack. As a result, it is widely expected that Jack Clarke will depart the club come the end of the season.

Multiple replacements for the attacker have been touted. However, a cheap option to replace him may present itself in Josh Murphy. The Oxford United player’s contract is set to expire in the summer with QPR also chasing the 29-year-old.
