Inter Miami wonderkid Benjamin Cremaschi gives latest fitness update after returning from 'difficult' injury

Inter Miami wonderkid Benjamin Cremaschi has delivered a fitness update having now returned from a ‘difficult’ injury.

The USA international was ruled out of the Herons’ worldwide pre-season tour after picking up a sports hernia at the start of the year, with Cremaschi only now returning to action last weekend for Inter Miami.

Having exploded onto the scene last year after the arrival of Lionel Messi, Cremaschi has missed valuable time in his development already in 2024, with the 19-year-old already playing catch-up with the rest of his teammates.

And the midfielder has now issued a verdict on where his fitness now is after returning from injury.

Cremaschi ‘happy’ to be back for Inter Miami after ‘difficult’ spell away from action

Speaking to the Miami Herald, Cremaschi revealed he is delighted to be back in action for Inter Miami, with the midfielder admitting that spending so much time out on the treatment table was a struggle for him.

With Cremaschi now on the road to building match sharpness, it won’t be long until the academy graduate is back on the pitch with Inter Miami, a journey that every fan will be excited to see.

Cremaschi said when asked about his recovery process: “Every game I watched, whether from home when the team was away, or in the stadium for the home games, I wanted to play.

“I wanted to help the team. It was difficult, and I’m happy to be back on the field. My body had to recuperate after the surgery, so it took some time.”

Inter Miami’s other injury news heading into Saturday’s Nashville SC clash

Cremaschi might be back, but the midfielder’s return on Saturday also saw Jordi Alba go down with a suspected hamstring injury, with the defender ruled out of Saturday’s MLS clash with Nashville SC.

As well as the fullback, Leonardo Campana, Robert Taylor, and Ian Fray are also expected to be missing due to only returning to training, with Federico Redondo also out for at least well over a month.

Facundo Farias will also miss the fixture as well as the majority of the fixture to an ACL injury, with the Argentine youngster getting hurt around the same time as Cremaschi earlier this year in pre-season.
