Pedestrian struck, killed by SUV on Route 46

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night on Route 46 in Parsippany, officials said.

The man was hit by an SUV near Starbucks at about 9:50 p.m., the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Officials didn’t provide the man’s identity and declined to offer additional information. He was pronounced dead at the scene, near Baldwin Road. The driver stopped and spoke to police.

The fatal crash is the third of the year in Parsippany and the second to have occurred along Route 46 in the township, according to State Police data.
