Report: Forest remain favourites to sign 'terrific' striker this summer despite interest from Saudi

Nottingham Forest are still in pole position to land a striker this summer despite the player receiving interest from a number of different countries.

A busy month is needed at Forest with the PSR deadline quickly creeping up on the club with a need to sell players over the coming weeks.

It has now been revealed the extent of Forest’s PSR issues which they need to find £20m to answer before the deadline at the end of the month.

And that may well ease the burden on the club needing to greenlight a number of exits before bringing players into the club.

And it is apparent Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to see new players come through the doors at the City Ground this month with Forest already linked with two potential signings.

Carlos Miguel is a player Forest are looking to get over the line over the coming weeks, but there is a player at the other end of the pitch they also want to secure.

Forest target is receiving a lot of interest this summer

Although Forest do not need to turn around a whopping amount of money this month, the free agency market could provide them with some potentially smart deals.

Che Adams is a free agent of interest for Forest and this is a potential deal which has already taken a number of turns.

Forest had seen Wolves hijack their deal to bring in Adams following the end of his contract with Southampton.

However, it had since been reported that Forest have fought back in the race to secure the signature of the Scotland international.

And according to BBC Sport, Forest remain the favourites alongside Wolves to secure the services of Adams this summer.

The Scotsman is also receiving interest from Italy, the MLS and Saudi Arabia having impressed for Southampton in the 2023/24 campaign.

However, the striker is currently away on international duty with Scotland as they prepare for the opening game of Euro 2024 against the hosts, Germany.

What Ally McCoist had to say about Che Adams

The report does state that Adams’ future is unlikely to be decided before the start of the tournament on Friday in Munich.

This is a player who has impressed since deciding to represent Scotland with six goals in his 25 caps for his country.

Adams’ displays have seen pundit Ally McCoist hail the 27-year-old for what he has seen in a Scotland shirt.

“First and foremost, we now have a striker who is a first pick every week for a very good team in the English Premier League. It’s been a long time since a Scotland manager has had that luxury,” he said back in 2022.

“Adams has started his international career really positively and has scored in the last two games against Moldova and Denmark. Apart from that, his general play has been terrific.
