Tottenham receive offer for ‘unstoppable’ player, they now have to decide whether to sell

Tottenham Hotspur have now received a formal offer for one of their players and must now decide whether they want to let him go.

The summer window has now opened and Tottenham have made a proactive start to offloading some of the players they no longer want at the club.

Up to 15 players are believed to be on the transfer list for Spurs this summer with a number of players having already been let go.

Tanguy Ndombele is the most recent to have departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after his contract was torn up earlier this week.

The Lilywhites now must sell some of their unwanted players having not yet brought in any money for the Ange Postecoglou outcasts who have departed.

However, they could shortly get their first summer sale on the board having now received a formal offer for one of their players.

Tottenham see summer offer land for ‘unstoppable’ player

There is an expectation for several Tottenham players to be moved on from Hotspur Way having failed to impress Postecoglou in his first season at the club.

During the Australian’s first season as the Spurs manager, it has become abundantly clear that players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal have just not cut it for him.

Offloading unwanted players will not only provide Tottenham with more money to spend in the summer window, but it will also offer a fresh start with Postecoglou making the squad his own.

The Australian inherited a bloated squad which has needed trimming and then bolstering with better squad depth, it now seems that is happening.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have now received a formal offer from Genoa to sign Djed Spence on a permanent deal.

The English right-back spent the second half of the campaign out on loan with the Serie A side after seeing his time at Leeds United cut short by Daniel Farke.

Spurs and Genoa have been in talks over a potential permanent deal for the 23-year-old, but now the Lilywhites must decide whether they want to accept the terms being offered for his sale.

Spence’s signing has not turned out the way anyone would have wanted, but he has shown signs during his various loans he is capable having been labelled ‘unstoppable’ by GFNF during his time with Rennes.

Tottenham have to take transfer losses this summer

As Postecoglou looks to clear the decks in north London, Daniel Levy is going to have to accept some financial losses on some of the players who are expected to leave.

So far, the Spurs chairman has looked willing to do so with Ndombele’s exit sanctioned through Spurs paying the Frenchman to leave given he had one year left on his deal.

And then there are players like Ryan Sessegnon who could have had his contract extended and sold for a small fee; instead Tottenham have accepted the financial loss and let him go as a free agent.

Players like Hojbjerg and Joe Rodon will be sold for something and both could potentially even bring in a profit for Tottenham.

But Spurs look keen to move on from their unwanted players quickly this summer with a fresh start under Postecoglou to look forward to.
