2 drivers critical after head-on collision in South Jersey

Two motorists are hospitalized in critical condition after a car and pickup truck collided head-on Friday morning in Cumberland County.

A 19-year-old man was driving a car north on South Lincoln Avenue near Mildred Lane in Vineland around 7:30 a.m. when the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound pickup truck driven by a 58-year-old Vineland man, according to Vineland police.

Emergency responders had to free the car driver, who was trapped inside his vehicle, police said.

The 19-year-old — who is from the Minotola section of Buena Borough in Atlantic County — was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. The truck driver was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Both were listed in critical condition as of midday Friday, police said.

No charges had been filed as of Friday.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has additional information about the case is asked to contact Vineland Officer Paul Cifuentes at 856-691-4111, ext. 4698.
