Danny Rohl is preparing to return to work at Sheffield Wednesday following his stint at Euro 2024.
The Sheffield Wednesday manager joined the ITV punditry team as Euro 2024 kicked off last week, making his debut ahead of Belgium v Slovakia on Monday.
Rohl has since taken to our TV screens for a further four matches, with his time on ITV coming to an end as Portugal thrashed Turkey yesterday.
He is now set to return to Yorkshire ahead of pre-season testing beginning on the 28th June.
Once the squad have taken to Middlewood Road this month, they are set to take a trip to St George’s Park for a week of training, before jetting off back to Germany for their second summer camp.
Sheffield Wednesday will discover their 2024/25 schedule next week and will begin the new campaign on 10th August – in seven weeks time.
Rohl sets out summer plans at Sheffield Wednesday
With Rohl ready to return to life as a Championship coach, he has now laid out his plans for his return to Sheffield.
Speaking on ITV yesterday (19:07), he said: ““Yeah, we will start next Friday, the pre-season, the testing, and hopefully the players are working hard in the pre-season and are fit.
“We have to test everything. It’s about running, it’s about the medical check that they are ready for the pre-season. We have to work hard in the next six weeks to be ready for the next season. I am really looking forward to this and hopefully it’s going well.”
The Owls’ pre-season training could define the season
Rohl is yet to undergo pre-season at Hillsborough, having joined Wednesday in October.
The 35-year-old’s pre-season training could make or break the season, as he looks to further implement his own tactics and methods of coaching.
With the squad set for an overhaul, the team will have weeks to gel together and kickstart the season on a much more positive note than they did last term.
Getting their transfers done early could also prove pivotal, having already made three signings in the first full week since the transfer window opened.
