Report: Liverpool want £20m for 'exceptional' player Jurgen Klopp last used in 2022 amid PL interest

Liverpool are willing to sell one player this summer for £20 million amid interest from a number of Premier League sides.

The Reds are gearing up for their first season under Arne Slot, with the Dutchman taking over from Jurgen Klopp – and it will be interesting to see which players manage to move themselves up the pecking order.

Certainly, last season showed that Slot has a number of extremely exciting younger players to work with. But perhaps one or two will actually be used to bolster Liverpool’s transfer budget in this window.

Tyler Morton has not played for the Reds since March 2022, instead spending the last two years on loan in the Championship; firstly with Blackburn Rovers, before heading to Hull City last season.

Liverpool want £20 million for Tyler Morton

It is not yet clear whether he finds himself in Slot’s plans on Merseyside, but it definitely appears that a host of sides are keen to secure his signature.

Sevilla want Morton, while the Daily Mail is reporting that RB Leipzig lead the race, with enquiries already made. Bournemouth, Southampton and Ipswich Town are also interested in offering him the chance to play in the Premier League.

Liverpool are seemingly open to a sale, with Morton’s asking price set at £20 million.

A no-brainer if the Reds receive right bid

Morton is clearly extremely talented and has a very bright future ahead – Klopp once labelled him ‘exceptional’ – but Liverpool appear to now be back in the title picture, so the bar has got higher once again for those younger players looking to make the grade.

If they can get a team to pay £20 million, then it could prove to be a really smart piece of business from Liverpool who are well-stocked in the middle of the park after last summer when they managed to sign the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
