Report: Tottenham have made contact to sign a £33.8m teenage 'wonderkid'

According to a recent report, Tottenham are interested in signing a promising young defender.

Ange Postecoglou has completely changed the style of play since arriving from Celtic last summer and in his first season in charge, the Australian head coach finished fifth, just two points off Champions League qualification.

So, now the onus will be to go one better and to do that, he’ll need the full backing from Daniel Levy in the window,

With that said, the club have made contact to sign a talented defender.

Tottenham make contact to sign Michael Kayode

According to Corriere Fiorentino, Tottenham have made contact to sign Fiorentina right-back Michael Kayode.

The 19-year-old, who has been labelled a ‘wonderkid’ by Eye Football, enjoyed a productive season in Serie A last term, helping his side to reach the final of the UEFA Conference League.

The Serie A outfit have slapped a £33.8m asking price on Kayode after Spurs expressed their interest, so it won’t be a cheap deal to complete.

The North Londoners have been named the biggest threat to signing the Italy youth international and Fiorentina are expecting a bid very soon.

Tottenham should prioritise a striker

Tottenham are clearly in the market for a right-back as they look to provide competition to Pedro Porro.

Manchester City right-back Yan Couto, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Girona, has been linked in recent days.

But, it shouldn’t be a priority signing for Spurs, they should focus on trying to land a striker to finally replace Harry Kane.

With Richarlison potentially leaving, the club desperately need to sign a prolific number nine that will take them up a level.

At the moment, they’re too reliant on Son Heung-min.
