Crystal Palace now in talks to sign forward compared to Erling Haaland, told to pay £25m - journalist

Crystal Palace have now made contact to sign one of Europe’s most precocious talents as Michael Olise prepares to join Bayern Munich.

Dougie Freedman now has an extra £55m to play with in the transfer market after the German giants triggered the France U21 international’s release clause – and talks have started over a deal to spend some of that fee on a genuine wonderkid.

So, who have Crystal Palace now made contact to sign? Let’s take a look…

Crystal Palace in talks to sign Antonio Nusa

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has now claimed that Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Club Brugge No.32 Antonio Nusa.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that the Norway international is being considered as a direct replacement for Olise.

Now, Tavolieri has advanced the story, claiming that Club Brugge have told Crystal Palace they want €30m (£25m) to sell Nusa this summer.

It is also said that Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen are keen to sign the 19-year-old, which poses a potential issue for the Eagles, given the German side’s status as a UEFA Champions League outfit and reigning Bundesliga champions.

Nusa scored four goals and also provided four assists in 46 appearances across all competitions last season.

Potential Michael Olise replacement has been compared to Erling Haaland

Norway are currently enjoying something of a golden period in terms of talent production, with Erling Haaland, Martin Odegaard, Oscar Bobb and Nusa shining through.

Interestingly, The Athletic have even compared the Crystal Palace target to Haaland, boldly stating that the prolific Manchester City No.9 is “no longer the brightest young thing” in Norway as the Club Brugge prodigy begins to step up.

That same story also mentions that Nusa has been dubbed the Norwegian Neymar back in his homeland.

Clearly, the Langhus-born forward is highly thought of, and it would signal a real coup for Crystal Palace if Freedman can lure him to Selhurst Park this summer.
