Report: £30m West Ham player Mohammed Kudus rates highly has now changed agents amid exit rumours

A West Ham United player who has been touted for a departure from Julen Lopetegui’s new project this summer, has now changed their agent.

It promises to be a summer of change for West Ham, with Tim Steidten aiming to provide Lopetegui with a much-changed squad.

Right now, David Moyes’ group is deemed insufficient in numbers, and perhaps even in quality in certain areas.

Lopetegui is believed to primarily want to add a centre-back, a right-back and a new forward.

Ben Johnson seems to be on the verge of joining Ipswich Town, stressing the need for better competition for Vladimir Coufal, who has looked strong for Czechia at Euro 2024.

In terms of a striker, West Ham are said to be interested in Lille’s Jonathan David.

The Canadian, who has just begun his Copa America 2024 campaign with a goal, and is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs.

Lopetegui can’t start next season with just Michail Antonio and Danny Ings as his options, the Hammers will need to roll the dice in the striker market once again.

Nayef Aguerd joins same agency as Kurt Zouma amid rumours of West Ham exit

Of course, perhaps just as worrying as the goal-scoring situation, West Ham could also be seriously short at centre-back.

Club captain Kurt Zouma could leave this summer, perhaps paving the way for Max Kilman’s arrival.

And despite his quality, Nayef Aguerd could also leave West Ham, linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

That being said, Footmercato are now reporting that Aguerd has changed his agent amid these links away, which could potentially be significant.

Aguerd has joined Canterasport, who incidentally also represent Zouma.

The Moroccan’s contract in east London runs to 2027, explaining why West Ham may be determined to recoup the £30m they paid for the 28-year-old.

And although Kilman could cost up to £45m this summer, West Ham may be pleased with that hypothetical net spend, should both deals be executed.

Kudus may be disappointed to see Aguerd leave

Mohammed Kudus, a player West Ham fans will definitely want to keep for Lopetegui’s new era, has been linked with an exit himself.

The Ghanaian reportedly has an active release clause of £85m, which is likely a little too rich for any interested clubs.

But with Kudus likely to stay, he might be a little disappointed to see Aguerd leave, should an exit transpire.

Kudus thanked Aguerd for an assist he described as ‘so good’ back in November, back when Aguerd’s stock at the club was a lot higher.
